By Osceola Magic Staff /January 29, 2024

January 27, 2024 — The Osceola Magic defeated the Capital City Go-Go at the Entertainment and Sports Arena 123-107 Saturday night.

D.J. Wilson posted a double-double, scoring a game-high 27 points on 11-of-16 shooting and grabbed 11 rebounds.

“It’s great to get another win on the road,” Wilson said. “We are making a turn as a team, capitalizing on our runs, and making sure to play good defense. When we lock in, we get easy stops, shots, and layups.”

Guard Mac McClung added 21 points, shooting an efficient 5-of-6 from three-point range, and six assists.

“We've got an extremely talented team,” McClung said. “The shots these guys made were incredible. D.J. [Wilson] looked like Kevin Durant tonight; he went crazy. We paid attention to their game plan, focused on discipline, and knew their tendencies thanks to our coaches.”

The first half witnessed a back-and-forth battle with 11 lead changes. Osceola's tight defense limited Capital City to a 42.1% field goal percentage and a 27.6% three-point shooting rate.

Meanwhile, the Magic caught fire outscoring Capital City 64-46 in the second half. Osceola shot 56.3% (49-87) from the field and 50.0% (22-44) from beyond the arc with five players scoring in double figures. The team finished the game with a 16-point lead, securing the victory during the one-game road trip.
