The Story:

After dropping the first game of the regular season, the Magic have been able to rattle off four-straight wins, including three on the west coast. Despite giving up 126 points to Rip City in the last match up, Osceola has been one of the best defensive teams in the G League. The team ranks tied for seventh in defensive rating (108.2), fifth in opponent points per game (108.6) and sixth in opponent turnover percentage (18.1).

Guard Reece Beekman and forward Justin Minaya have been the catalyst behind the Magic's defensive prowess. Beekman is averaging the eighth-most steals per game (2.8) but is tied for most total steals in the G League with 14. Minaya has been turning back opponents' shot at a high rate lately. After four rejections against the Remix, the Providence product is tied for 10th in total blocks (9) and tied for ninth in blocks per game (2.3).

The Magic will see a familiar face on the Windy City sideline in Mac McClung, who played in Osceola from 2023-2025. The former G League MVP and three-time NBA Dunk Contest winner is averaging 25.5 ppg., 5.2 apg., 3.3 rpg. and 1.3 stlpg. for the Bulls. McClung finished his Magic career third all-time in points (1,463), assists (350) and field goals made (526) and helped lead Osceola to the G League finals last season.
