March 16, 2024 —The Osceola Magic defeated the Long Island Nets 125-117 Saturday at Osceola Heritage Park.
Trevelin Queen posted a triple double in the victory, recording 24 points, 14 rebounds and 12 assists.
“We recognized the mismatches and who had it going,” Queen said. “Our game plan was to limit them in transition and offensive rebounding. The crowd had our backs tonight; it was loud. Keep it coming, Kissimmee is on the rise.”
The Magic trailed 63-61 after a tightly contested first half. Osceola surged ahead in the third quarter, outscoring the Nets 35-23 as Mac McClung scored 16 in the period. Jett Howard contributed 13 points in the fourth quarter to seal the win. Overall, the Magic shot 53% from the field and 47% from beyond the arc.
Mac McClung had a game-high 34 points and dished out six assists.
“Our team is really unselfish,” McClung said. “Our second unit came in for a shorter spurt but were still looking for me, and that meant a lot to me. I’m just trying to play the game. I know when there’s two guys guarding me I have a teammate open. My favorite highlights to produce are passing highlights.”
The Osceola Magic (19-9), NBA G League Affiliate of the Orlando Magic, will face the Birmingham Squadron in Birmingham, Alabama, at the Legacy Arena at the BJCC Tuesday, March,19 at 8 p.m. The game will stream on ESPN+.
