Corey Hawkins
Corey Hawkins serves as the Assistant Coach and Head of Player Development for the Osceola Magic, where he plays a dual role in game preparation and player growth. As an assistant coach, Hawkins provides coaches and players with detailed insights into opponents, enhancing the team’s readiness. In his role as Head of Player Development, he designs tailored skill development plans for each player, working alongside players and coaches to bring these strategies to life on the court.
Hawkins began his professional journey as an assistant coach with the Salt Lake City Stars from 2019 to 2022, followed by a role with USA Basketball in 2019. He later joined the Orlando Magic in the video room from 2022 to 2024, gaining valuable experience with high-level analysis. Throughout his career, he has had the opportunity to work with esteemed coaches such as Jamal Mosley, Jim Les, Ty Amundsen, and Hersey Hawkins.
Notable achievements in Hawkins' career include leading the Salt Lake City Stars to a 2019 G League Showcase Championship and being recognized as the 2015 Big West Player of the Year while helping his team secure the conference championship. His player development experience extends to working with talented players like Carsen Edwards and Justin Wright-Foreman. In 2022, he was honored with an induction into the UC Davis Hall of Fame.
