MAGIC OPEN THE WINTER SHOWCASE WITH A VICTORY OVER LAKERS

December 19, 2023 — The Osceola Magic defeated the South Bay Lakers at the NBA G League Winter Showcase 121-113 on Tuesday Night.

Osceola’s Mac McClung contributed 19 points and six assists, while Brandon Williams had a game-high 26 points. D’Moi Hodge led the Lakers with a team-high 20 points. Colin Castleton collected a double-double netting 15 points and 22 rebounds off the bench.

“The Showcase is a great opportunity for us to display who we are,” commented Brandon Williams after the game. “Tonight we played a great brand of basketball. We can be as good as any team in the league.”

Williams made an impact early in the game, scoring 19 points in the first quarter, which played a role in the Magic building a 10-point lead. The Osceola Magic's proficiency from beyond the arc was a key factor, as they made 20 three-point shots while shooting 42.6 percent from deep, ultimately securing a victory.

The Osceola Magic, NBA G League affiliate of the Orlando Magic, will play the Sioux Falls Skyforce on Friday, December 22 at the NBA G League Winter Showcase in Orlando at 3:30 PM.The game will be televised on NBA TV.
